Search Rose Hill ZIP Codes

The Rose Hill ZIP code directory is most useful when a mailing address needs to be separated from the community and county records behind it. Postal routes, the Rose Hill CDP, parcels, and election precincts do not use the same boundaries. Find a Rose Hill ZIP code from a complete address, then use that result to narrow an address-based search without assuming every delivery point shares one neighborhood or jurisdiction. An exact address and the record's date are more dependable than a postal-city label alone.

Rose Hill ZIP Code Coverage

Two verified ZIPs serve or border Rose Hill in the official sources reviewed. Both use Alexandria, Virginia as the postal city, yet Rose Hill is a Fairfax County CDP rather than an incorporated city. The first question is therefore not simply which ZIP appears on an envelope. It is whether a specific delivery address lies in the community being researched, on a county parcel, or in a nearby service area that shares the same postal geography.

Rose Hill Elementary at 6301 Rose Hill Drive and John Marshall Library are documented 22310 examples. County material also uses 22315 for nearby communities, and Kingstowne Library is in 22315. These examples show the postal pattern, not a complete address-to-CDP crosswalk. Use the USPS result for the delivery address at hand.

Rose Hill Is a CDP, Not a ZIP

Rose Hill is an unincorporated Fairfax County census-designated place. Mailing addresses commonly say Alexandria, but that does not make the community part of the City of Alexandria and does not change county record custody. Fairfax County is the right jurisdiction for its tax, GIS, land, and many other local records. The Alexandria postal city is a delivery convention that USPS confirms address by address.

Several local layers can overlap at the same location: CDP, postal ZIP, mailing city, parcel, subdivision, civic association area, and election precinct. Each serves a different purpose. A geographic search should name the layer being tested rather than convert one into another. This is especially important when a record search asks for a locality or jurisdiction. For a Rose Hill property or address record, begin in Fairfax County even when the mail line says Alexandria.

Verify Rose Hill ZIP Addresses

The USPS ZIP Code Lookup is the exact delivery-verification tool. Its By Address form documents Company as optional, Street Address as required, Apt/Suite/Other as optional, City as required, State as required, ZIP as optional, and Find. It also has City and State and Cities by ZIP paths. Use the full street address and apartment information where applicable, then retain the result as a postal check rather than evidence that a named person or company occupies the address.

USPS itself warns that a lookup result does not confirm occupancy and explains duplicate-address handling. County GIS and iCare answer different questions. They connect a situs address to a parcel or tax record, while USPS resolves the deliverable mailing city and ZIP. When the address is historical, first reconcile its old road name or number with county records, then run the modern delivery check.

Note: A complete street address, apartment or unit, city, and state produces a stronger delivery check than a ZIP alone.

Rose Hill ZIP Portal Fields

Local portals do not all accept ZIP searches in the same way. USPS is the documented ZIP-specific tool. Fairfax iCare begins with address, map number, or map search rather than a visible ZIP field. GIS and MAR provide county address and parcel geography, but the inspected material did not verify a ZIP-wide output. PLUS exposes ZIP among broader general-search criteria and can be browsed without an account, while submissions require one. The voter portal uses individual, precinct, and district information rather than public ZIP browsing.

Use iCare after an address is known to inspect the county tax record, then independently verify the postal ZIP because the portal is not a dedicated ZIP browser.

Rose Hill Postal Boundaries

Rose Hill's postal boundary cannot be substituted for its CDP boundary. The research did not locate an official full polygon-to-ZIP crosswalk for every Rose Hill address or a verified realignment history. That gap is important: a 22310 or 22315 result can support a delivery search, but it does not prove that every address within the ZIP belongs to Rose Hill. Nor does it establish a city boundary, precinct, or county office.

Situs, mailing address, and legal description should be kept separate. Situs is the physical parcel location used in county GIS. The mailing address is the USPS-deliverable line for tax notices. A legal description is the lot, section, subdivision, or metes-and-bounds identifier used in deeds and tax-map work. When the labels conflict, use the parcel and legal description to understand county geography, then USPS to verify delivery.

ZIP versus ZIP+4
A ZIP identifies the broader postal area. ZIP+4 adds a more precise delivery segment within that area.
PO box ZIP
A ZIP assigned for post-office boxes, which may differ from the ZIP used for a street delivery address.
Unique ZIP
A ZIP assigned to a single organization or high-volume recipient rather than a general neighborhood delivery area.
Carrier route
A postal delivery route grouping used for mail delivery. It is not a CDP, parcel, or precinct boundary.

Rose Hill's 1965 Address Layer

Fairfax changed 400 duplicate street names in 1965 and changed the street numbers of almost every house to an E911-style system. This means an older Rose Hill address found in a directory, deed, or map may not map directly to today's ZIP lookup. An old number should first be bridged through the road name, cross streets, subdivision, tax map, parcel legal description, and deed references before it is used to validate a current delivery record.

The county describes east-west block numbers increasing from eastern 100s toward western 16,000s, while north-south numbers increase from northern 100s toward southern 10,000s. That pattern is a useful local orientation point, but it is not a substitute for an address match. The documented GIS and MAR tools are the county address authority for current location work.

Rose Hill Precincts and ZIPs

Rose Hill Precinct 410 is a separate election boundary from the CDP and ZIP layers. Rose Hill Elementary is the precinct polling location identified in county mapping, but a ZIP alone does not establish a polling place. The Virginia voter portal is designed for individual registration status, polling place, election district, absentee status, and voting-history functions under the portal's rules. It is not a public directory of everyone within a postal route.

This distinction protects against a common geographic error: treating a postal ZIP as a civic district. Use the voter portal for the individual election question, county GIS for parcel geography, and USPS for delivery. Rose Hill's Alexandria mailing identity belongs in the postal part of the search, while its Fairfax County custody belongs in the records part.

Note: A precinct, CDP, ZIP, parcel, and postal city can overlap at one address without sharing the same boundary.

Rose Hill Postal Research Limits

The verified record supports two ZIPs serving or bordering Rose Hill, but it does not support a claim that every address in either ZIP lies within the CDP. It also does not document a ZIP split, realignment date, PO-box-only ZIP, or unique ZIP for Rose Hill. Those unknowns are a reason to keep the search address-specific, not a reason to fill the gaps with a map approximation.

For a careful result, save the USPS delivery response, note the Fairfax County parcel or address match, and record the date of each search. That makes it easier to distinguish a historic number from a current mailing line and to explain why a nearby Kingstowne, Saratoga, or Hayfield result may share a ZIP without being the same community. The strongest Rose Hill ZIP code directory result is therefore a documented address trail, not a broad list of presumed residents.
